Car Component Plants in Almaty: Astana Motors Signs Memoranda with Akimat and International Partners
Three memoranda on construction of car component plants were signed within the framework of the Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable (KGIR-2022) in Astana.
The memorandum on the car seat production project to be implemented in Almaty was signed between the City Akimat and Astana Motors.
The memorandum on the investment project for rubber and plastic car item production to be implemented in Almaty was signed between the City Akimat, Nordplast and Astana Motors.
The memorandum on the investment project for electronic car audio and video equipment (multimedia system) production to be implemented in Almaty was signed between the City Akimat, Motrex of the Republic of Korea and Astana Motors of Kazakhstan.
“In the fourth quarter of 2022, Astana Motors starts construction of three plants for the production of car seats, polyurethane mats, wheelhouse liners, mudguards and multimedia systems for Hyundai cars jointly with foreign partners Youngsan, Motrex and Nordplast that have experience in producing car components abroad. The plants will be built in Almaty’s industrial zone,” Beknur Nessipbayev, Astana Motors CEO, said.
The project investments amount to 15 million dollars. The area of production facilities is 9,500 sq. meters. The enterprises will provide 175 jobs. The launch is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.
It should be noted that the Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable (KGIR-2022) organized by the Investment Committee of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry and NC KAZAKH INVEST JSC was held shortly before.
The roundtable was attended by over 500 representatives of leading international and domestic companies, investors, competent experts and opinion leaders, as well as by the head of sector ministries, heads of quasi-public companies and domestic businesses.
The issues discussed included the development of Kazakhstan’s national economy, investment appeal and opportunities for global and regional investors, food security and logistics in the new economic environment.
A ceremony of awarding businessmen and investors for the contribution to the country’s development was held at KGIR-2022. Astana Motors received the award as Kazakhstan’s major employer.
