The Updated Chery Tiggo 7 Celebrated a Sales Milestone and Aced the Charyn Test
Chery Kazakhstan, a division of Astana Motors, celebrated the sale of its 40,000th vehicle in the Kazakhstan market. The milestone car was the restyled version of the Chery Tiggo 7. Moreover, this model also became the brand’s 5 millionth car sold globally, marking a significant step for the Chinese automaker in expanding its presence abroad.

The key hand-over ceremony and delivery of the crossover to its proud owner took place on July 28, 2025, at the Al-Farabi flagship dealership in Almaty.
“This is a historic moment for the brand. It highlights its strengthened position both in Kazakhstan and globally, and proves its international success. We are proud to have the trust of our customers, and their numbers are growing. This is the best indicator of the brand's popularity, which is constantly improving and expanding its model range, using advanced technologies and modern engineering solutions,” said Nurlan Shamgonov, Director of Chery Kazakhstan.

After celebrating its sales milestone, Chery delighted its global customers with further news the very next day. On July 29, 2025, Chery Tiggo 7 CSH (Chery Super Hybrid) underwent safety testing in Mexico, where the strength of the car’s steel underbody protection was assessed. As you may remember, the Chery super hybrid, a new hybrid platform, debuted this spring at the Shanghai International Automotive Exhibition.

In Kazakhstan, the Chery distributor company decided to test the updated Chery Tiggo 7 model and sent a team of bloggers, influencers, and brand customers to the Charyn Canyon to check the car’s comfort, performance, and functionality. They went to an unexplored location of this picturesque natural wonder.
In total, the participants covered over 500 km. They utterly enjoyed the majestic nature in breathtaking places and were thrilled to test the new car in the Temerlik Canyon and its mysterious landscapes with quaint names “Frying Pan” and “Balcony”. The tour was designed by famous blogger Diyas Valikhan, who led the convoy of several brand new cars.

“I know this route very well; it’s perfect for a test drive. The car is tested both on and off the road. Charyn has a gravel road with multiple steep descents and climbs that are not easy to negotiate. We tested the hill descent control system, the driving modes, and the interior air filtration system, as it was very dusty in some places. And the new Tiggo 7 did perfectly well,” said automotive blogger Diyas Valikhan.
The Chery Tiggo 7 has received a major update to its exterior. It has a more imposing appearance than previous versions. The new bumpers increased its length to 4,553 mm and its width to 1,862 mm, and slightly decreased its height to 1,696 mm. The new Diamond Matrix front grille is designed as a futuristic 3D matrix. The smooth transition of the roof into the C-pillar creates a “floating” roof effect. A light bar was added to the rear, integrating the LED headlights. All this gives the urban crossover yet more dynamic look. The Tiggo 7 also received two-tone 18- and 19-inch wheels, which feature a new design and anti-corrosion properties.
The interior has also been renewed. A touchscreen cluster was added to the dashboard. It combines 12.3-inch screens that control navigation, settings, and multimedia. Physical buttons remain on the center console only. Also included are a surround-view camera system with 540-degree HD cameras, dual-zone climate control, a premium audio system, wireless charging, and Apple Car/Android Auto support. An intelligent voice assistant helps you navigate all digital control options without taking your eyes off the road.

“The seats are very comfortable. After driving several hundred kilometers, I didn’t even feel tired. The seat is ergonomic, with power adjustment and adjustable lumbar support for the comfort of your back. The car provides a comfortable ride even off-road. The cabin is generously spacious. It feels like a higher-end car,” said blogger Malika Zheksenbina.
It also features heated seats, a heated steering wheel, heated windows, and keyless entry. The spacious trunk, with a capacity of up to 1,500 liters and an automatic opening, is convenient for transporting large items. This is a huge advantage on trips and long journeys. The panoramic sunroof allows you to enjoy the view of the endless sky, majestic mountains, and beautiful nature, which the test drive participants especially appreciated while driving through the Charyn Canyon. On the way, they could see a stunning sunset and, of course, took many gorgeous photos.

Notably, the restyled Tiggo 7 crossover has not changed technically. It remains equipped with the proven 150 hp 1.6-liter turbocharged engine paired with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. The model is available with both front-wheel drive (Prime FWD) and all-wheel drive (Ultimate AWD).
The new Tiggo 7 comes with a warranty of five years or 150,000 km, whichever comes first. The car starts at 13,490 tenge and is available at all Chery dealerships. There are currently 26 dealerships in 17 cities across Kazakhstan.

Present in Kazakhstan’s automotive market since 2021, Chery has become the best-selling Chinese brand. In July 2025, Astana Motors was selected as the brand’s official distributor in the Czech Republic. Sales in this European country will start this autumn with the Chery Tiggo 7 and Chery Tiggo 8 crossovers, available in gasoline and hybrid (PHEV) versions.
