Spring Holidays Spent to Good Purpose: Almaty Schoolchildren Visit Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan

Guest tours have become a tradition for the Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant and its employees: schoolchildren, students, and businessmen have been here for several times for almost three years since the plant was opened.

On March 24, Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan had visitors again: three tour groups from three Almaty schools (Republican Physics and Mathematics School, Panfilov Kazakhstan-Russian Specialized High School No. 54, and Zhaniya Aubakirova School). a total of 55 guests visited the plant that day, including 7 to 11 grade students, their teachers, and parents.

“We had an amazing and interesting tour of the Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan car plant. The children got to know the plant not just by watching on the screen or listening to a story about it, they were able to see the complicated car making process with their own eyes,” Maral Salindina, a teacher at High School No. 54 noted. “It was a pleasure to see young people mastering such useful technical occupations among the plant’s employees. I dream that my students will follow their example in the future.”

Tour participants were told about the history of the Hyundai brand and its development in Kazakhstan. The plant tour included visiting the body welding and painting shops, plastic part painting shop, assembly shop and test ground. Thus, the schoolchildren saw a manufacturing cycle from body welding to testing of finished Hyundai cars on the test track.

The tour became an important part of training of Republican Physics and Mathematics School students for the upcoming international robotics tournament. According to Aidos Ordabayev, a teacher at the Republican Physics and Mathematics School and Kazakh team mentor, creating robots and making cars from scratch are very similar processes in many respects, so his team members will have their knowledge expanded through what they saw at the plant.

“It was a very unusual day today – my classmates and I visited the Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant. We not only learned a lot of new stuff but got a great impression of what we saw. I was attracted by car painting and the special working atmosphere. It was interesting to watch people and see them being really fond of what they do,” Venera Janayeva, a Zhaniya Aubakirova School student, shared her impressions.

Tours of Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan are surely new knowledge and broadening of the outlook for both children and adults. Tours will be held on a monthly basis.
