CAR COMPONENTS PLANT PROJECT PRESENTED TO THE ALMATY AKIM YERBOLAT DOSAYEV

The metropolis Akim Yerbolat Dosayev has visited the domestic plant for production of passenger cars Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan. The subsidiary of Astana Motors is located in the Industrial Zone of the city.

Currently, the company has 736 employees with the average salary of 290 thousand tenge. In 2021, 26 thousand cars were produced, while tax deductions to the country’s budget amounted to 9.4 billion tenge.

In the current year, the company should reach the full capacity and plans to produce 45 thousand cars a year. CKD production of the Hyundai Tucson model was launched. Now two models are produced using the welding and painting method - Accent and Tucson.

26% of produced cars are planned for export in 2022 - 10 thousand to Uzbekistan, 1.5 thousand to Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.

During the visit, the founder of Astana Group Nurlan Smagulov presented to the Akim the project of future plant for production of car components.

“The new plant for production of car components will be located next to the Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant, a 13.5 hectares plot has been allocated for it. It is planned to produce seats, plastic parts and accessories for cars, as well as multimedia systems. The start of the plant construction is scheduled for this autumn”, Smagulov said.

Beyond that, negotiations are underway with international partners regarding the possibility of building another car plant, as well as the creation of stamping production of body parts. The plant intends to increase the production localization.

Nurlan Smagulov stressed that the production expansion not only contributes to the industry development, but also creates new jobs and supports the young technical specialists. The plant employees are provided with full social package. And in the fall of this year, construction of a comfortable small-family dormitory for Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan personnel will begin in the Alatau district.

Let us remind that the Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan project has been implemented with support from the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan, the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Almaty Akimat.

The total scope of investment into the project exceeds 30 bln tenge. Thirty-four percent of the investment (more than 10 bln tenge) are own funds of Astana Motors, and 66 % (20 bln tenge) are loans raised from Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC and Industrial Development Fund JSC.
