Astana Motors has opened the first Youth Home in Almaty. Upon leaving the SOS Children’s Villages of Kazakhstan, the borders will live here. Many employees of the company took an active part in this project.
The SOS Children’s villages were established in our country 25 years ago. The children who have no parents are brought up here, but, unlike orphanages, the SOS-model is the closest to a family. The children have here a caring mother; brothers and sisters grow up in the same house and live like in a normal family.
President of Astana Group Nurlan Smagulov is a member of the Board of Trustees of the SOS Children’s Villages of Kazakhstan Fund, and he has initiated creation of the Youth Homes for the children, who leave the SOS villages at the age of 16.
In June, the first Youth Home was opened in Almaty: two apartments (separately for boys and for girls), which are rented, furnished, and maintained by Astana Motors KMC. In 2019, the company will allocate about 38,500,000 tenge for maintaining the apartments and paying the salaries to the teachers-mentors who will be with the children all day. Many employees of the company have also made their personal contribution. In addition, the young people from the Youth Home will have an opportunity to undertake paid internships in the companies of Astana Group.
Nurlan Smagulov has also handed over the keys from two Hyundai Accent cars to the Fund. They will be used for the needs of the children who live in the SOS Children’s Villages in Almaty and Nur-Sultan.
Nurlan Smagulov: “It is very important for me that the employees of our company were actively involved and worked hard to open the Youth Home. The employees’ money was spent to buy various household and kitchen items, bed linen, blankets, pillows and other things, which are necessary in everyday life. This means that I am setting the right example for my colleagues, and I am very proud of working with these caring people.”

Donation boxes are in many sales points in Almaty and Nur-Sultan. The easiest and simplest way to make a donation is to put money in such a box.
