THE DEVELOPMENT BANK OF KAZAKHSTAN CELEBRATES 20TH ANNIVERSARY

We congratulate our partner on the anniversary!

The Development Bank of Kazakhstan (DBK) makes a valuable contribution to the implementation of state programs, it demonstrates sociability and striving to support Kazakhstan manufacturers.

The professional staff of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan implements various projects such as the support in the form of demand generation programs, export and pre-export funding, establishment of enterprises and their modernization.

As a result, the business community establishes new domestic enterprises, expands production capabilities, creates jobs, improves skills of employees, and develops industries.

On April 21, 2019, we placed a capsule into the base of the future plant in the Almaty Industrial Zone “Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan”, a subsidiary of Astana Motors.

After a year, the assembly shop started its operations, and the complete launch of the enterprise with the welding, body painting, and plastic part painting shops as well as the component warehouse for CKD assembly took place on October 15, 2020.

The total volume of investments into Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan amounted to more than 28 billion tenge, 30% of which are the funds of Astana Motors, and 70% are loans from the Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC and Industrial Development Fund JSC.

The full-cycle Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant has been built with the application of modern automobile production technologies and complies with environmental standards. The equipment for the plant was made in South Korea and installed by the specialists of Hyundai Motor Company and Youngsan (South Korea). Quality audit of cars at the enterprise in compliance with the international Hyundai standards is ensured by Korean engineers.

Nowadays, Astana Motors supplies cars produced at Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant to dealerships in Kazakhstan as well as exports them to Uzbekistan and Belarus.

The number of plant employees grew from 10 to more than 400 in the first year. These are professionals with technical education, experience at plants and in the automobile industry, as well as the young generation of Kazakhstan citizens who master different professions in the car building sector. The enterprise trains and improves the skills of its employees in Kazakhstan and abroad. After Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan achieves its full capacity, the number of employees will reach about 700 people.

Astana Motors will invest into the construction of an automobile component production plant at the next stage of passenger car production development. Over time, the cluster of small- and medium-sized companies will be formed around the new plant, which will give impetus to Kazakhstan’s economy development and create jobs.

The implementation of the Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan project became possible due to Astana Motors’ reliable partners. Among them is the Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (DBK).

The Development Bank of Kazakhstan is also a concessional lending program operator. This program helps Kazakhstan citizens buy cars produced in Kazakhstan at the interest rate of 4% per annum.

We thank the top managers and employees of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan for efficient cooperation and wish them success and new global projects that will serve the development of Kazakhstan’s economy.
