HOT AUGUST: A FIGHT FOR THE PODIUM

Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Tashkent hosted qualifications for the first Astana Motors international competition

The urban competitions among the employees of all Astana Motors companies, Mycar.kz and MEGA Mall were held in August: August 13 in Nur-Sultan, August 20 in Almaty and August 27 in Tashkent. The three‑year break had no effect on the athletic performance of the participants who were extremely excited!

Before the pandemic, the Astana Motors competition had been held every year, but in Almaty only. This year, in honor of its 30th anniversary, the company decided to scale up the competition and make it international. The first qualification round took place in Nur-Sultan. The capital city welcomed not only its own teams but also participants from Ust-Kamenogorsk, Karaganda, Kostanay and Atyrau. The Almaty competition was joined by Shymkent teams, and Tashkent hosted the sports battles of employees from Hyundai’s Uzbekistan offices.

The competition has a complicated slogan: “Unity! Competition! Collaboration!” But it is only at first sight. According to Astana Motors General Director Beknur Nessipbayev, “It is a routine affirmation for our employees. We are united as a company, we value a healthy competition for the best performance, and we collaborate perfectly within both established teams and working groups formed for any major event.”

The competition included team events: futsal, volleyball, cheerleading, and an individual program for darts, table tennis, arm wrestling and chess champions.

Cups, medals and money prizes were awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners among teams and players, but only the 1st place winners will go to the Astana Motors international competition finals that will take place on September 24 in Tashkent. They train hard to make the final push to win, but surely outside of working hours!
