On April 27, 2026, in Wuhu (PRC), Alexander Abramov, Director of OMODA and JAECOO Distribution in Kazakhstan, and Chen Lei, Regional Director of OMODA and JAECOO, signed a distribution agreement. Consequently, Astana Motors has been granted the right to officially represent the OMODA and JAECOO brands in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Xue Qingsong, President of the OMODA and JAECOO Business Division; Qin Chao, Vice President of Chery International; Li Tung, Manager of the OMODA and JAECOO Business Unit; and Keith Matthew Simmons, Board Member of Astana Motors.
Chen Lei, Regional Director of OMODA and JAECOO: "Kazakhstan is a strategic partner of the People's Republic of China, and Astana Motors is a major market player with a long and successful history. We see opportunities to strengthen our partnership and confidently entrust the management of the OMODA and JAECOO brands to Astana Motors. We wish the distribution team prosperity and the achievement of their most ambitious goals."

Existing official brand dealers will transition to the management of Astana Motors as partners; currently, this includes 15 dealerships across 13 cities in Kazakhstan. The dealer network is set to expand in the future.
Alexander Abramov, Director of OMODA and JAECOO in Kazakhstan: "OMODA and JAECOO entered the Kazakhstan market in 2023. We have been entrusted with the brand relaunch, transitioning to a centralized distribution model within the Astana Motors portfolio. This is both an honor and a significant responsibility for us. We have committed ourselves to ensuring the highest level of service for our customers."
OMODA and JAECOO are actively expanding their global audience through progressive technology, design, and superior driver comfort. As a result, the brands have earned international recognition and received over 25 industry awards. These include Brand of the Year 2025, Car of the Year 2025, and Best Family Car 2025 in the UK; Car of the Year for the JAECOO J5 EV in Thailand; Best Premium SUV for the JAECOO J7 in Saudi Arabia; and the OMODA 5 being named the Most Recommended Car in Chile in 2025.

In March 2026, the JAECOO 7 became the best-selling model in the UK, surpassing the Ford Puma and Nissan Qashqai. This marks the first time a Chinese model has led sales in the primary British market.
OMODA and JAECOO are the export divisions of the automotive giant Chery Automobile (PRC). As a reminder, Astana Motors has been the distributor for the Chery brand since 2021, and since 2025, the company's subsidiary—the multi-brand plant Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan—has been producing Chery vehicles in the Almaty Industrial Zone.

n the third quarter of 2026, Astana Motors intends to launch the production of OMODA and JAECOO vehicles at the multi-brand plant. In the initial phase, the facility will begin mass production of the JAECOO J5, a compact SUV-B segment crossover. Additionally, Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan will establish production of the JAECOO J7 PHEV, a mid-size SUV-C segment crossover featuring a plug-in hybrid powertrain. PHEV technology combines a gasoline engine with an electric motor that can be recharged from an external power source. This ensures reduced fuel consumption and emissions, while also providing the capability for full electric driving mode.

Furthermore, Astana Motors is considering the localization of the OMODA C5 and OMODA C7 models equipped with gasoline internal combustion engines (ICE).
The Kazakhstan-produced model lineup will be expanded in stages, evolving to meet market demands and localization strategies.

In Kazakhstan, the OMODA and JAECOO brands are focused on long-term development. Models will be specifically adapted for the local market. The distributor intends to develop and enhance service standards, keeping customer needs at the forefront.
