Hyundai: made in Kazakhstan

KMC “Astana Motors” commenced assembly of motor cars of Hyundai model in Kazakhstan.

On 8 July, semi knocked down (SKD) assembly of cars of leading Korean auto manufacturer was started in Kostanai on the basis of domestic enterprise “Saryarka AutoProm”.

At first in the republic, three Hyundai models will be assembled: hatchback golf-class i30, sedan Elantra of segment C and compact crossover Tucson. Modern and reliable cars Hyundai already have acquired popularity at Kazakhstan consumers: 12.4 thousands of automobiles were realized for 2013. Until the end of year 2014, it is planned to sell 17 thousands of Hyundai cars.

For the first calendar year, since start of assembly, it is planned to produce 6000 cars. Gradually volume of Kazakhstan Hyundai production should exceed 10 000 cars per year.

Commencement of domestic assembly allowed not only new jobs creation, but also put consumer prices down on popular models Hyundai i30, Elantra and Tucson by 10-15%. They should come into the market through network of model official dealers at the end of this year.
