The Tiggo 4 PRO coming soon: the latest hi-tech Chery is on the road to Kazakhstan

More than 1,500 new cars have been sold by Chery dealers in Kazakhstan in the eight months since the launch of sales last December, as announced by Chery representatives in Kazakhstan at a meeting with journalists yesterday in Almaty. The authorized distributor is part of Astana Motors.

The brand is quickly climbing to the top. Following the seven months of 2022, Chery ranks eighth among the most popular car brands in Kazakhstan after Renault, Nissan, and Volkswagen. Kazakhstani customers prefer the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, with its share in the total brand sales being 55%.

Car experts and potential customers are eagerly waiting for even more technological innovations from the Chinese company, and the start of preorders for the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro has already been announced. It is presented as “a fashionable model for the young”, following the slogan the Chinese designers came up with, “youthful fashion”. The model is intended for a target audience up to 36 years old.

It was created by Chery’s international design team led by Steve Yum, who previously worked as a designer for American GM. Steve also has experience working at Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick of China, South Korea, and California General Motors.

The new Tiggo 4 Pro boasts an updated exterior and interior, an improved security system, and new technological features. The 4 Pro has a 3D matrix grille, more attractive alloy wheels, new dashboard and multimedia system displays with a diagonal of 7" and 10.25", respectively, ambient interior lighting, and other options that provide more comfort and safety for the driver and passengers.

The top version of the Tiggo 4 Pro is equipped with a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, paired with an upgraded CVT25 transmission, it produces 210 N⋅m (1,750~4,000)/147 hp. By the way, the CVT25 is considered one of the ten best gearboxes in the world.

Direct supply of cars and genuine spare parts for service centers from China is one of the main advantages of the authorized Chery distributor in Kazakhstan. While the global car market is experiencing logistics difficulties due to the pandemic and the geopolitical crisis, Chery provides regular deliveries from Wuhu (Anhui Province) to Almaty.

The entire route takes a little more than two weeks, and a Tiggo 4 Pro batch is already at the China–Kazakhstan border, so the sales of the compact urban SUV will be launched in the coming days.

The model will be presented in Prestige, Premium, and Luxury trim levels.

After the Tiggo 4 Pro are delivered to Almaty, they will be distributed to the dealerships in Nur-Sultan, Shymkent, Karaganda, Aktobe, Kostanay, Uralsk, Atyrau, and Pavlodar. In the future, Chery dealerships will appear in Taraz, Aktau, Taldykorgan, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kyzylorda, Kokshetau, and Semipalatinsk. By the end of 2023, the number of dealerships in the network will grow to 17, which means that more Kazakhstanis will be closer to the “hi-tech” Cherys.

“It’s a familiar model, but what an update! I’ll say this: The Chery Tiggo 4 Pro tried on the premium look of older models, and it’s all neat, intricate, and expensive. For me, this is a new player in the market. I believe independent tests are coming, and only after getting the results we’ll be able to say that cool equals quality,” said automotive journalist Roman Maslennikov commenting on the launch of the new model.

Now you can book a test drive and buy a Chery without leaving your home from an online dealer. In August, the IT company Mycar.kz and the authorized Chery distributor signed an agreement transferring the right of dealership of the new cars of the Chinese brand to Mycar.kz.

In the first two weeks, Mycar.kz sold four Chery cars online. Cars are currently delivered to online customers within Almaty. In the future, the service will be available in other cities of the country as well.

The Chery dealer network in Kazakhstan has special Mycar Finance programs and package deals convenient for both individuals and the corporate sector. Several large Kazakhstani companies have already purchased more than 25 Chery SUVs for business.

“People in Kazakhstan like Chery cars. It is rapidly gaining popularity and demonstrates strong sales due to high-tech functions, a wide range of options, especially in the field of safety, vehicle reliability, and optimal value for money,” said Nurlan Shamgonov, Chery distribution director.

In recent months, Chery has strengthened its position in the TOP 10 car brands in Kazakhstan. According to the Association of Automobile Business of Kazakhstan (AKAB), it was the sales leader among Chinese brands in June, having sold 312 cars, and 378 in July, with a 21% growth in July as compared to June.

In general, Chinese companies are rapidly increasing the production and sales of cars around the world. For example, this June, China became the world leader in car sales with 2,483,000 units sold, which is 29.5% higher than a year ago (data provided by AUTOSTAT).

Chery is among the brands that show more active growth rate of global sales: in 2021, the increase was 31.7% YoY. Today, Chery has more than 10 million customers, 2 million of which are outside China, including Kazakhstan (according to Chery Holding).
