Built for Business: New Kazakhstan-Made Hyundai Porter Model Unveiled in Almaty

May 23, 2025, Almaty — The official presentation of the new model of the Hyundai Porter light-duty truck took place at the Mycar Almaty dealership.

The light-duty truck is manufactured by the Almaty full-cycle plant for the production of commercial, specialized and passenger vehicles   Hyundai Trans Almaty, a subsidiary of Astana Motors.

Technical Specifications

The Hyundai Porter is a maneuverable truck with compact dimensions and payload of up to 1.5 tons. It is ideal for urban conditions due to its high mobility and ease of use. The 2.5-liter D4CB turbocharged diesel engine (130 hp), new 6-speed manual transmission, comfortable cabin with air conditioning and leather seats make this vehicle a versatile solution for small, medium, and even large businesses.

The Hyundai Porter is available in several body styles: with a flatbed, dry cargo van and isothermal van. This makes it highly adaptable for various business needs, capable of transporting building materials, equipment, or even temperature-sensitive food and beverages.

Hyundai Trans Almaty

Hyundai Trans Almaty resumed production of the Hyundai Porter earlier this year after completing a large-scale plant upgrade project, which was implemented during 2024 and 2025. As a result of the upgrade, the range of equipment manufactured by the plant expanded due to the launch of CKD production of two models — the Hyundai Porter and the Hyundai Mighty EX5.

Astana Motors invested KZT 12.8 Bn in the upgrade and expansion of the plant. The production area increased 3 times, from 7,000 to 19,400 square meters. The first cataphoretic coating shop for commercial vehicles in Kazakhstan was put into operation, and a Hyundai Porter cabin welding line capable of producing one cabin per hour was installed. The plant also implemented a new frame assembly line and improved the production of superstructures, resulting in enhanced productivity and product quality.

“Bringing Hyundai Porter production back to Kazakhstan is our answer to market demand. We offer a proven model adapted to local conditions and business objectives. In urban conditions, it is especially popular due to its maneuverability. It is easy to drive, does not require a special driver’s category, it is enough to have a regular “B” category license, which significantly simplifies the employment of drivers,” said Hyundai Trans Almaty Director Adilbek Gayev.

Availability and warranty
The new Hyundai Porter comes with a manufacturer’s warranty of two years or 150,000 km. Sales will start in June 2025 at all Hyundai dealerships in Kazakhstan. The price starts from KZT 14 Mn. Additional information can be obtained by calling 7007 or from official dealers.
