Kim Jun Song, CEO, Motrex, in his turn confirmed the company’s intention to work closely with Kazakhstani partners on expansion of components’ local production and to lead production of multimedia devices.

“This will create jobs with the opportunity to nurture qualified industry experts and will enable Kazakhstan’s economic growth. We are honored to collaborate with Astana Motors on starting a new chapter in the global automotive industry based on mutual trust and cooperation. We believe that our commitment to quality, performance, and partnership will lead us to great success,” commented Kim Jun Song, CEO, Motrex.

The Kazakhstan Mobility Engineering plant for production of multimedia systems belongs to a technology park that also includes a plastic parts manufacturing site and a car seat manufacturing plant to be launched in December 2024. Beknur Nesipbaev, CEO, Astana Motors says that by the end of 2025 a total of 5.5 thousand professionals will be employed in the automotive cluster founded by the company in the Industrial Zone of Almaty. In particular, it concerns the technology park for automotive components, the logistics hub, the operating Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant and the multi-brand plant currently under construction which is to be launched in Q2 2025. The multi-brand plant is intended to use multimedia systems from Kazakhstan Mobility Engineering plant for vehicle assembly. It should be noted that multimedia systems offer integrated support of the Kazakh language.

As a reminder, in April 2023, Astana Motors signed a memorandum of cooperation with Motrex Co Ltd., a global supplier of equipment and technology solutions for industries such as energy, transportation, and automotive. This is how Astana Motors has been licensed for production of multimedia devices using Motrex technology. In September 2024, the Kazakhstan Mobility Engineering plant for production of multimedia systems in Almaty has been technically opened. The plant’s capacity is 100 thousand units annually.
