Art-Center “Alma-Ata” represents one-person exhibition of famous Kazakhstan artist Alexei Utkin “Color and lines of Almaty”

Alexei Utkin is cheerful singer of Almaty, who may find peculiar beauty and charm in our city, which is far from Paris perfects. Aesthetically interested opinion is miracle. Usually citizens look for information (chemist's shop, school, shop) and they never thought that there is something to admire.

Artist impresses major or elegiac color-schemes, exciting rhythms of stems and branches against walls, colored people figures in window apertures, who hurry or stroll along the streets. He sees visual score of city space, which crossed horizontally by streets and vertically by buildings and trees. However, not limited to this.

It is undeniable that, Utkin’s canvases show city poetry. Its presence does not depend on number of architectural masterpieces (but they will not divert us). It comes from artist’s soul who can enjoy each moment of life occurring before his unquenchable eye.

Seeing is destiny blessing for artist, as he cannot hear world sounds. Therefore, it is obviously, that his pictures are rich with exuberant visibility. Some canvases are painted with bold strokes and broken touches. Other ones are painted on canvas tinted in specific color mode. In addition, the third ones combine both color and line. Special tone comes from this combination, where you can feel both feelings energy and delicacy of sensations.

Exhibition, which was called “Color and lines of Almaty”, is coincided with 65-years of the artist. At least twenty years of these 65, artist has painted our, despite everything, favored city. He has held many small and large exhibitions dedicated to Almaty. There were ten of them or even more. He created special title for each of them, as there is no limit to his feelings and sensations.

Artist said that he could not stop paint Almaty, while sometimes he thinks that it is appropriate time to try another subject. However, when he goes outside, and looks at trees rows along the streets, walks by shop windows, crosses square, artist wants to implement occurring visual feelings. We are looking forward, that the artist will continue to show us beauty and charm of our city.
