Astana Motors has announced the opening of Kazakhstan’s first next-generation digital auto center in Almaty. The new format combines a physical showroom with modern IT solutions, letting customers go through the entire car-buying journey faster, more comfortably, and more transparently. The project is part of a large-scale transformation of the company’s customer experience. Astana Motors notes that today’s buyers expect not just a wide selection of cars, but also a convenient, intuitive service — similar to online shopping.

Forbes magazine interviewed the CEO of the branch where the new center is opening, Imangali Kyrykbayev.

—Tell us, how is the new auto center different from familiar formats?

—Today a car dealership isn’t just a place where cars are parked. We created a space where it’s comfortable for the customer to make decisions. There’s no chaotic processes, lines, or unnecessary bureaucracy here. Everything is built around the digital experience: a person can study the car on their own, compare trim levels, see the final price — and only then bring in a manager.

—Is it true that the buying process now takes less time?

—Yes, and that’s one of the key results. On average we’ve shortened the customer journey by 30–40%. Before, the process could drag on: consultations, waiting for calculations, paperwork. Now many stages are automated.

—Won’t technology replace live communication with managers?

—No, and that was never our goal. We removed the pushiness but kept the support. The customer decides for themselves when they need help. It’s a more respectful and comfortable format of interaction.

The digital auto center is built on a «one-stop-shop» principle: customers no longer need to move between different zones, wait for managers, or fill out paper documents.

Key features of the center:

  • Interactive panels with 3D car configurators
  • Ability to compare trim levels in real time
  • Electronic queue with no waiting
  • Personal managers at every stage
  • Virtual test-drive zone with an immersive effect
  • Accelerated loan and insurance processing
  • A separate, comfortable car pick-up zone

The opening of the Astana Motors digital auto center isn’t just the launch of a new space, but a step toward changing the entire customer-interaction model. The company is betting on technology while keeping the main thing — the customer’s comfort and trust.
